AJ Lee discusses the hardest part of her WWE return.

Almost two weeks ago, AJ Lee returned to WWE for the first time in over 10 years, and she wasted no time in getting physical in the ring. However, during her first promo back on RAW, the former Divas Champion opened up about her mental health journey while away from wrestling. Now, she’s revealed the toughest thing about her comeback so far.

Speaking to Sports Center on ESPN, AJ Lee revealed that the hardest thing about coming back to WWE has been managing her anxiety.

“Quite honestly, managing my anxiety. I get a little nervous with attention. I’ve been very comfortable as a writer and a producer the past 10 years, sort of being behind-the-scenes, and creating worlds, and I don’t have to be the art – I kind of liked being the artist. But now to sort of be both and to create this cool world and have people looking at me, is a little stressful, but I am very good at managing my anxiety now, and I can balance it and keep myself sort of even. But the mental part has been the biggest hurdle so far.

The 38-year-old is gearing up for her return to the ring, teaming with CM Punk to take on Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch this weekend at WrestlePalooza. Coming back to aid her husband, little is known about what’ll be next for AJ after this Saturday, but her multi-year contract suggests this next run will be more than just a one-off.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on AJ Lee’s WWE return as soon as we hear more.
