AJ Styles was legitimately surprised by his WWE Hall of Fame induction.

Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW saw WWE hold a tribute to AJ Styles in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. After delivering his retirement speech and soaking in the applause from the WWE Universe and his peers, Styles was joined in the ring by The Undertaker, who announced that ‘The Phenomenal One’ will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.

According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, the announcement came as a genuine surprise to Styles, as WWE did not inform him in advance about his Hall of Fame induction.

“That whole thing at the end with the Undertaker and the Hall of Fame announcement was a legitimate surprise to AJ, who they didn’t clue in.”

Styles joins Stephanie McMahon as the second announced inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026, with further announcements expected as WrestleMania 42 approaches.

Despite speculation that Styles could potentially join All Elite Wrestling or New Japan Pro Wrestling after finishing with WWE, last night’s speech and subsequent Hall of Fame induction have led many to believe that his match with GUNTHER at the Royal Rumble truly was the final time we will see AJ Styles compete in the ring.

Nevertheless, former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland recently said that the locker room would be ready to welcome Styles should he decide to become ‘All Elite’ in the future. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of AJ Styles as soon as we hear more.
