AJ Styles says TKO should be praised if something goes well in WWE.

At present, the wrestling world is still talking about the epic mask vs. mask match between El Grande Americano from May 30’s Noche de Los Grandes. While taking place in AAA, the bout happened under the WWE umbrella just over a year after their acquisition of the Mexican promotion, leaving the clash are arguably one of the best in WWE history. Off the back of the recent AAA success, AJ Styles has now called for TKO to receive praise when things go well.

While speaking on the Phenomenally Retro Podcast, AJ Styles discussed TKO taking the blame when things go wrong, saying they should also receive praise when things go right.

“You got to understand that is their job to take the blame for everything that is going on, and that’s their responsibility. ‘Listen. We are the head of this thing, and so we take all the blame. That’s our job and we have to live with it.’ But also, if they do something right, we need to give them praise. With AAA, they did something right. We can praise them for that. With other things, maybe they’ve done wrong. Eh, freak it. That kind of sucked. We’re entitled to opinions and stuff like that. But at the same time, you can’t be booboo face about everything that’s going on because there is some good things that are going on with TKO. It’s not gonna be perfect all the time. Nobody is.”

While it’s been almost three years since the TKO Group was formed by Endeavor, many viewers have grown frustrated with the company over the last 18 months. In particular, higher ticket prices and involvement in WWE’s creative process has led fans online to be critical of their ownership.

Of course, this was no more evident than when Pat McAfee was added to the WrestleMania storyline between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, believed to be a call made by Ari Emanuel. Still, the much-loved AAA match just over a week ago involved two stars from WWE’s main roster, and so names like Styles are keen to give props for the clash.

Continuing his praise of the recent mask vs. mask match, AJ Styles also spoke on his podcast about how WWE would be dumb to not capitalise on Chad Gable’s newfound momentum. You can read more about his comments here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on both AJ Styles and TKO as soon as we hear more.
