The former NXT Championship looks to be heading back to WWE.

On February 10th, PWInsider reported that Malakai Black’s AEW contract had expired, thus making him a free agent. This prompted heavy speculation that a WWE return was on the horizon, and it now looks like that will be the case.

In today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the man formerly known as Aleister Black’s return to WWE is right around the corner.

“Aleister Black should be returning imminently.”

During his tenure with All Elite Wrestling, Black captured the AEW World Trios Championship alongside his House of Black stablemates Brody King and Buddy Matthews, who now find themselves competing as a tag team under the ‘Hounds of Hell’ moniker.

WWE fans will best remember Black for his memorable stint in NXT, and with Triple H now leading the company in a creative capacity, it’ll be interesting to see how Black fares in his second stint with the company.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Aleister Black as soon as we hear more.
