Here’s all you need to know about the recent WWE releases.
This weekend, WWE began their latest round of releases. Per PWInsider and Fightful Select, fans have gradually learned of names who’ve either been released or will have their contract allowed to expire when it next comes up. Here’s a roundup of all we know about WWE’s recent round of cuts.
Below is a list of all known WWE releases from the weekend. Unless otherwise noted, each release will have a 90-day non-compete clause to wait out before they can take bookings elsewhere.
- Cedric Alexander – the former Cruiserweight Champion confirmed his released after eight and a half years with WWE. Some in AEW reportedly expect The Hurt Syndicate to push for him to join the company.
- Sonya Deville – the Pure Fusion Collective member was reportedly told by WWE that they wouldn’t be renewing her contract when it expires in just a few weeks. There will be no non-complete clause when Deville reaches free agency later this month.
- Blair Davenport – the 28-year-old was released just eight months after her main roster call-up, it’s believed that creative had no plans for her after she was moved from NXT to Friday Night SmackDown.
- Paul Ellering – the Hall of Fame manager has departed WWE after managing The Final Testament since January 2024.
- Authors of Pain – Akam and Rezar depart the company around a year after re-emerging in WWE for the second time. The former NXT Tag Team Champions were part of The Final Testament and leave having last competed in December.
- Isla Dawn – the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion took to Instagram to indicate that she has departed the company after first signing with NXT UK around five years ago.
- Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson – the former two time WWE Tag Team Champions leave the company after returning for their second stint in 2022. Most recently, they had been part of the NXT roster.
- Giovanni Vinci – the former two-time NXT Tag Team Champion left Imperium in April 2024 and was moved to SmackDown where he only featured in two televised singles match before his release.
