At Least One Pro-Wrestling Company Reportedly Interested In Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez could find his way back to professional wrestling.
Former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez was released from prison on February 15 after being granted early parole and released from custody, and speculation is already mounting regarding his next move.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, at least one professional wrestling promotion has shown interest in bringing Cain Velasquez back to the squared circle.
“There has been at least one pro wrestling company that has shown interest as well.”

Cain Velasquez served eight months in jail before being granted bail, in addition to time spent under house arrest. He was arrested in 2022 following an 11 mile high-speed chase in pursuit of Harry Goularte, a man accused of molesting Velasquez’s son. Velasquez fired several rounds from a handgun into the vehicle carrying Goularte, striking Goularte’s stepfather, Paul Bender, in the arm.
Following several injury issues and a knockout loss to Francis Ngannou, Cain Velasquez retired from MMA in 2019 and subsequently turned his attention to professional wrestling, competing in six bouts across both WWE and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide.
With Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide now under the WWE banner, it remains to be seen whether the Mexican promotion will move to bring Cain Velasquez back into the fold. There are likely to be a number of avenues that a former UFC Heavyweight Champion could pursue, one of which is Real American Freestyle.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Cain Velasquez potentially returning to professional wrestling as soon as we hear more.
