Baron Corbin Reveals His WWE Deal Is Multi-Year, Says It’s Probably His Last Contract

On July 10, Baron Corbin made a surprise return to WWE after two years away. Not wasting time, he found himself with championship gold less than a month after his comeback, winning the United States Championship on night two of SummerSlam. Now firmly part of the SmackDown roster, Corbin has reflected on his contract status, looking ahead to the end of his career.

Speaking to The Sportster, Baron Corbin confirmed his current deal is multi-year, saying it’ll probably be the last contract he signs.

“Signing a good multi-year deal. Coming back, I’m gonna really accomplish something. I have a lot of unfinished goals. I was never a World Champion. I need to have that on my list of accomplishments, — My thought process is this is probably the last one I sign. Realistically, how much time do I have left to do this before I’m a step slower, or I’m not able to bring my A game and the physicality I want? I never want to be a guy that hangs on too long. I want to be at 110% when I walk through those curtains.”

Although he didn’t become WWE Champion in his first run, Baron Corbin infamously became the third man in history to unsuccessfully cash-in Money in the Bank when John Cena cost him the opportunity at the title in 2017. He also competed for the gold as part of a six-pack challenge at Fastlane 2018.

In his time away, the current WWE star wrestled under his real name of Tom Pestock, primarily competing for MLW, where he became a World Tag Team Champion, while also wrestling for a myriad of other independent promotions. After losing the United States Title to Trick Williams at last night’s Sunday Night’s Main Event, Corbin will be hoping this is the start of a move up the card in the company.
