‘The Man’ would much rather be the bad guy than the fan favourite.

On the episode of Monday Night RAW immediately following WrestleMania 41, Becky Lynch turned heel by attacking Lyra Valkyria after the pair lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

Speaking to Cody Rhodes on the latest edition of What Do You Wanna Talk About?, Lynch revealed that she prefers working as a heel as it allows her to play to her strengths of making her opponents shine.

“I really love being a bad guy. I feel like I do more good being bad. I’m a better wrestler that way. I’m better at making people look good because I’m not a cool wrestler. I don’t have cool moves. I don’t do anything, —I feel like I’m a better wrestler because everybody else has all this cool stuff. Like Lyra [Valkyria], she’s got all this cool stuff, like wings. Bianca [Belair], when I was working with her, she had all this cool stuff. I’m really good at knowing where to put other people’s stuff.”

Becky additionally noted the freedom that comes with playing the bad guy, as opposed to the political nature of needing to be loved by the crowd that can bring a burden of stress.

This past Monday’s episode of RAW saw Lynch successfully defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Natalya, with WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella making the save after a prolonged Disarm-her.
