Becky Lynch looks back on her on-screen partnership with Seth Rollins in 2019.
Coming out of WrestleMania 35, the top stars on RAW were Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins. The pair both came out of the ‘Show Of Shows’ having captured world championships and their overall momentum was high. However, after they confirming their off-screen relationship in April, WWE opted to present them together on-screen, something which didn’t quite connect in the way the company intended. Now, the Irishwoman has reflected on her on-screen partnership with Seth Rollins in 2019.
Speaking on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer, Lynch discussed how her wrestling character contrasts to how she is in real life, making it hard to make her off-screen relationship feel natural on weekly TV.
“They put us together, and we didn’t know our own dynamic as a couple. Now we’re on TV, and my wrestling character is so different to how I am in real life, and especially as a girlfriend. And so trying to figure that out on TV—and then they kept talking about, ‘Oh, Becky and Seth in a real life relationship’ every two minutes. It was jammed down everybody’s throats. Everybody hated it. It was awkward as sh*t. It was pretty awful.”

Lynch and Rollins even began teaming up in July 2019 as part of their on-screen partnership. They earned respective wins over Andrade and Zelina Vega as well as fellow couple Mike and Maria Kanellis before taking on Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans at Extreme Rules with all the gold on the line.
Speaking of their feud with Corbin and Evans, Lynch noted during the interview that ‘The Sassy Southern Bell’ was a ‘terrible’ choice of opponent for her heading out of WrestleMania 35. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins as soon as we hear more.
