Becky Lynch looks back on her feud with Lacey Evans.
In 2019, Becky Lynch became the first woman to win the main event of WrestleMania, coming out on top in a triple threat match with Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair to win both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships. However, off the back of pinning Ronda Rousey at the ‘Show Of Shows’, the Irishwoman went into a feud with Lacey Evans, something that many fans were unhappy with. Now, it seems Lynch may share that same sentiment.
Appearing on Something’s Burning with Bert Kreischer, Lynch recalled working with Lacey Evans after WrestleMania 35, saying she wasn’t a strong choice of opponent to capitalise on her momentum.
“I start working with Lacey Evans right out the gate (after WrestleMania 35). God bless her, but she wasn’t, you know… For me to go from the main event of WrestleMania to somebody who hadn’t done anything was terrible.”
-Becky Lynch
Lynch’s rivalry with Evans began in May of 2019 and concluded when she teamed with her husband Seth Rollins to all of their respective titles on the line against Lacey Evans and Baron Corbin at Extreme Rules that July. Both Rollins and Lynch emerged with their gold still intact, but many viewers felt it had negatively affected their momentum heading into the summer.
Speaking of Lynch’s on-screen partnership with her husband Seth Rollins, ‘The Man’ also discussed the awkwardness that came with being paired together in 2019. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Becky Lynch as soon as we hear more.
