‘The Man’ is reportedly expected to take a break following her WWE contract expiry.

Despite WWE renewing the deals of many top stars over the last few months, the contract status of Becky Lynch is one that remains unchanged as her contract approaches its expiry. With speculation running rampant, it came out earlier this week via Fightful Select that the Irishwoman is set to become a free agent in just two days on June 1, although it doesn’t seem as if she’ll be back in the ring any time soon.

To provide an update on Lynch’s immediate future, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has suggested that the 37-year-old will be taking an extended leave from wrestling once her contract expires this weekend.

“Becky Lynch is taking an extended leave. From what I was told, it’s not like a short period of time. She was looking for a long period of time out. If he’s (Seth Rollins) not on the road, it makes sense for her not to be on the road. They can’t be hurting for money or anything where they need it right now and maybe she’s looking at other things and maybe she’s not,”

Lynch is someone who WWE have relied heavily upon in the last couple of years, including her fruitful run in NXT in late-2023, so it’s fair to say that her upcoming extended leave is definitely well-deserved. We wish her the best and hope to see her return to the ring soon, wherever she chooses to do so.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future plans of Becky Lynch as soon as we hear more.
