Today marks the end of an era as Being The Elite appears to have drawn to a close.

Since 2016, Being The Elite has been a highlight of many wrestling fans’ weeks, with the YouTube series having played a large part in The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Adam Page, and Cody Rhodes’ rise to stardom in NJPW, across the independent scene, and eventually leading to the formation of AEW.

It now appears as though this chapter in The Elite’s career has now come to a close however, as within today’s Wrestling Observer Daily Update, Dave Meltzer reported that, despite initial reports, BTE is not just on hiatus, but has concluded for good, with no plans in place for a return.

“We’ll write more about it this coming week, but BTE is not on hiatus, it’s actually done. As of this point in time, there are no plans to bring it back,”

-Dave Meltzer

The series’ conclusion comes after The Young Bucks were defeated by The Golden Jets at this past Saturday’s AEW Full Gear, with the former AEW World Tag Team Champions throwing a post-match tantrum that spilled over to social media, as Brandon Cutler confirmed on their behalf that the pair had “officially finished up” with Being The Elite.

Earlier today, within the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer revealed that a heel unit appears to be the direction for The Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler, with Colt Cabana also having been mentioned as a potential member.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Being The Elite coming to an end, along with The Young Bucks’ creative direction moving forward, as soon as we hear more.
