Bianca Belair talks through the injury she sustained at WrestleMania.
Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY stole the show with their triple threat match at WrestleMania 41 for the Women’s World Championship. However, ‘The EST’ didn’t escape the contest unscathed, coming out of the match with a broken finger. Now, Belair has discussed exactly what happened during the ‘Mania match that caused the injury.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Bianca talked through a moment in which all three woman were involved in a triple German suplex, with the damage occurring when Ripley accidentally landed on Belair’s hand.
“So it was when we were doing the triple German (suplex) spot, when IYO (SKY) was on the top rope, and then it was Rhea (Ripley), then it was me and I came and German’d both of them off and my hand got stuck underneath Rhea. Also, I went to the wrong side of Rhea, but my hand, I thought she was gonna go further over me, but we kind of just collapsed together so, when my hand went back, it got stuck under her, and she literally crashed on my hand, and I knew immediately; immediately I knew it was broken because usually in a match, something happens and you don’t feel it until after the match, your adrenaline wears off and you’re like, ‘Ow, my finger.’ But I thought I broke all of my fingers. So the ref, you can see the ref if you watch back, the ref comes to me, he’s like, ‘Are you okay?’ And I’m like, ‘I just broke all of my fingers’ and you just see me rolling around on the ground and it took Rhea to snap me out of the moment because I was just rolling around on the ground and she’s like, ‘Bianca, Bianca!’ I’m like, ‘What!?’ Oh, we have to finish this match… Honestly, after she snapped me back into it, I didn’t feel it at all for the rest of the match. I didn’t feel it until I got to the back, and I was like, ‘Oh, I broke my finger,’ and I didn’t think it was that serious.”

Since the injury, Belair is yet to return to the ring, though she did act as the referee for Jade Cargill’s match with Naomi at Evolution. Thankfully, she recently revealed that she’s in the latter stages of her recovery, so it shouldn’t be too long before ‘The EST’ is back in the fold in WWE.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Bianca Belair as soon as we hear more.
