Ricky Starks is believed to have nixed plans for his split with Big Bill.

Big Bill currently finds himself under the Learning Tree of FTW Champion Chris Jericho, with Bryan Keith having officially joined the pair during this past Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Prior to that, the man formerly known as Big Cass in WWE was one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions alongside Ricky Starks, and we now know of scrapped plans that involved the pair’s split.

In today’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that plans were initially in place to have Big Bill turn on Starks, turning babyface in the process.

“At one point there was a plan to have Big Bill turn on Ricky Starks and make him a babyface but that didn’t end up happening.”

Additionally, Meltzer noted that one source claimed it was Starks who nixed the plans, and with the former FTW Champion currently absent from television, its unclear as to what his future holds.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the status of Ricky Starks as soon as we hear more.
