Big Boom AJ was reportedly hurt heading into Full Gear as opposed to during the match.
This past Saturday night on the Full Gear Zero Hour AJ of the Costco Guys made his AEW debut when he defeated QT Marshall. However, earlier today, the company officially announced via their website that Big Boom AJ had suffered a broken foot during the outing. Now, it appears as if social media star may have actually been carrying the injury before stepping into the ring at the weekend.
Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Big Boom AJ broke his foot prior to his Full Gear match, opting to keep it to himself to ensure he didn’t disappoint fans.
“Fightful confirmed that Big Boom AJ actually broke his foot earlier in the day, and largely kept it to himself. We’re told that he didn’t want to disappoint fans who had bought a ticket to see him and waste promotion for the match.”

It’s currently unclear as to whether there are plans for Big Boom AJ to return to the ring for AEW in the future, though it seems as if his appearance has gone down well with many fans. Of course, we wish AJ the best in his recovery from injury.
