Blake Monroe Addresses Becoming NXT Women Champion Before Going To The Main Roster

Blake Monroe wants to win the NXT Women’s Championship.

After joining NXT in June 2025, it took Blake Monroe just under five months to win her first title. The 27-year-old defeated Zaria (who stood in for Sol Ruca) to claim the Women’s North American Championship at Halloween Havoc, going on to hold the gold for 52 days before losing to Thea Hail. At present, Monroe is looking to reclaim brand’s secondary singles title from Tatum Paxley, though she’s now discussed whether the NXT Women’s Championship is in her sights.

Talking with Jeremy Housewright, Blake Monroe discussed her goals in NXT.

“Timing is everything and I feel like the world and the universe knows what you need and when you need it. Selfishly, I would really love to become the two-time Women’s North American Champion because I feel like my reign got cut short. I feel like I was very much screwed over by that referee, so there was a lot more I wanted to do in my reign as the Women’s North American Champion. I do want to kind of retell and complete that story. And I would like to become the World Champ. I feel that when I debuted, I pinned Jacy [Jayne], so there’s a story there. I never got my championship match. I kind of went on to do other things, and I feel like it’s just completing NXT and being like, ‘I held every title and I held the World Title.’ The top title on that brand.”

As yet, whether Monroe will challenge Paxley for the Women’s North American Championship at Stand & Deliver on April 4 is unconfirmed, though it seems as if we’re headed towards a clash between the pair very soon. Should the Brit reclaim the gold, she’ll become the first person to ever hold the title on more than one occasion.

As for what fans can expect from NXT’s biggest Premium Live Event of the year, the show will be headlined by a four-way that will see Joe Hendry defend the NXT Championship against Ethan Page, Ricky Saints, and Tony D’Angelo. The card will also feature a grudge match between Zaria and Sol Ruca, while Johnny Gargano will have his first PLE match for the developmental brand since 2023.
