Blake Monroe has indicated that she’d like to see the Divas Championship return to WWE.

Known as Mariah May in AEW, where she became Women’s World Champion in 2024, Monroe signed with WWE in June of last year. She became the NXT Women’s North American Champion within four months of joining the company, and, wlthough we haven’t seen much of Monroe in the ring since moving to SmackDown, she certainly has designs on winning titles in WWE. Not only that, she seems keen to reprise the Divas Championship in the future.

Speaking with Adam Barnard from The Sportser, Blake Monroe said she would love to bring the Divas Championship back to WWE.

I love the Divas championship, the butterfly belt. It would match my outfit. Don’t let me get my hand on a title because I would swap them out”

Part of the landscape for around eight years, the Divas Championship was established in WWE in June 2008. It was held by many top female stars in WWE, including Michelle McCool, Melina and AJ Lee, before it was retired in April 2016, and rebranded the WWE Women’s Championship.

Monroe was called up to the SmackDown earlier this year, officially making her debut on the June 27 show in her hometown of London, England. Monroe’s legacy in WWE is still to be written. Although if she resurrected the Divas championship at any point in her career, it would certainly make headlines.

Recently, the Brit confirmed her entrance will be changing on the main roster. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Blake Monroe and the Divas Championship as soon as we hear more.
