We may not have seen the last of ‘The Hurt Business’.

Yesterday, the news was first broken by Fightful Select that Bobby Lashley had just weeks left on his current WWE deal, with PWN later stating that he’d already been removed from their internal roster. This led many to believe that Lashley could be about to enter the free agent market, and we now have a further indication as to what he is looking to do outside of WWE.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the possibility of Lashley going to AEW, saying that the assumption within WWE that both he and MVP are leaving the company in an attempt to revamp their former RAW stable ‘The Hurt Business’ elsewhere.

“I know there is talk of them trying to get into AEW, it’s one of those things where technically nobody can talk to them because I don’t believe either’s contracts has expired, but their contracts are going to expire and they are at this point, as things stand right now, WWE is under the assumption that they’re gone and that they are going to try and revamp The Hurt Business,”

Fightful Select then updated fans regarding the status of MVP, noting that the 50-year-old isn’t expected back in WWE.

MVP is not expected back in the company. We’re told this has been the conclusion for quite some time.”

As much as the group reforming may be the plan for Lashley and MVP, it’s noted by Meltzer that it’s uncertain as to whether they’d use the ‘Hurt Business’ name. Regardless, it’s set to be an exciting time for fans of the ‘All Mighty’, as he could become a free agent for the first time in six years within the next month.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Bobby Lashley’s WWE status as soon as we hear more.
