Bobby Lashley has opened up on why The Hurt Business didn’t reunite in WWE.

Following his emphatic return in 2018, Bobby Lashley went on to become a two-time WWE Champion, and his rise to the top of the company began alongside the formation of The Hurt Business. Partnered with MVP, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, the group were a key feature of Monday Night RAW during the pandemic, however the group were never together in front of a live crowd.

Appearing at K&S WrestleFest, Lashley has discussed why The Hurt Business didn’t reunite in WWE after the pandemic, stating that the new regime weren’t high on him or the idea of the group coming back together.

“It was kind of a spit in the face. We were never in front of a live crowd. During the pandemic, a lot of guys sat at home, ‘I’m not going to do this or that’ and it was us saying, ‘It’s work. We’re going.’ We did everything. We were on half the show most the time. We came out of the pandemic and people started resurfacing, ‘Oh, I’m ready to work.’ What about the guys who were putting the time in during this dangerous time? We got overlooked. That was a little bit of a spit in the face. I think we could have come back and done some big things together. They just didn’t want us. Different strokes for different folks. Different people like different things. When the regime changed, the regime wasn’t too high on me at all.”

Lashley left WWE when his contract expired in August, and it’s expected that he will pop up in AEW very soon. Following on from the debuts of MVP and Shelton Benjamin, it’s believed the lineup popular faction will soon be a key feature of Dynamite and Collision.
