Adam Scherr (FKA Braun Strowman) reflects on the impact he hopes he left on the wrestling industry.
Initially coming in as part of The Wyatt Family, Braun Strowman became a singles star following the 2016 WWE Draft. Particularly after his feud with Roman Reigns, the now 42-year-old saw a huge rise in popularity, and many tipped him to be a future world champion. Having left the company as a former Universal, Intercontinental and tag team champion, ‘The Monster Among Men’ has now looked back on his time as a big man in WWE.
Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, Adam Scherr discussed hoping he was able to change what it meant to be a big man in the wrestling industry.
“This is the first time in my life I’ve had a major platform where I get to be Adam Scherr, the man behind the monster. And that’s what’s so special to me because I always joke around if WWE would have ever just let me be me, I would’ve ruled the world. I didn’t have the pencil. So, I did my best I could with what they gave me every week. I like to think I changed what it meant to be a big man in the wrestling business. And now here I am with another opportunity in life to go out here and prove naysayers wrong and break these stereotypes that follow around big people like me.”

Back in May, it emerged that WWE had informed Braun Strowman of their intent to let his contract expire when it came up on July 31. At the time of his release, Dave Meltzer cited a combination of a high salary and injuries as reported reasons why WWE decided to let him go.
While Scherr hasn’t wrestled since the April 4 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the former WWE Superstar’s new food show ‘Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman’ is set to debut on the USA Network this Friday.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Braun Strowman as soon as we hear more.
