The decision over Brock Lesnar’s return is reportedly in the hands of WWE’s legal team.
Brock Lesnar has not appeared in WWE since his name was tied to Janel Grant’s lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis alleging cases of sexual assault and sex trafficking. However, when asked about a possible return for ‘The Beast’, Paul Levesque recently stated that he’d be open to the conversation of bringing Lesnar back into the fold, raising questions over his status with the company.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s clarified that, since Lesnar was pulled from WWE by the company’s legal team, any decision around a potential comeback would only happen should the department clear him to return to TV.
“The situation right now is that there were reasons having to do with what was in the Grant lawsuit that WWE legal felt it was not good to have Lesnar on television. When that belief changes, Lesnar will be back and on television. It’s not his decision to decide to come back, it is their decision on if they want him back and when.”

Lesnar’s most recent match came at SummerSlam 2023, meaning that it’s been almost exactly a year since he last stepped through the ropes. As of now, there is no indication that the stance has changed over whether he could return to WWE and this is understandable given the seriousness of the allegations made against him.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Brock Lesnar’s WWE status as soon as we hear more.
