Brody King believes he’ll reunite with Bandido again in AEW one day.

Back in July last year, Brody King and Bandido began competing as a tag team as part of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament. The pair, who came to be known collectively as Brodido, went to a time-limit draw with FTR in the finals, leading to them capturing the AEW World Tag Team Championship from The Hurt Syndicate in a three-way match at Forbidden Door in August.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo in a new interview, Brody King spoke about his hopes of reuniting with Bandido as a tag team and said he believes it is something fans will see again in the future.

“Me and Bandido have been friends for a long time. Since PWG, honestly. Then we went to Ring of Honor together. We went to Japan together. We’ve been around each other for a very long time, so we’re very familiar with each other. We know how each other wrestles. We’ve wrestled each other a bunch. So when we did this, I think it was just a random All-Star Tag Team Match or whatever, and then our chemistry was just perfect. Somebody, I think, tweeted the word Brodido, and then Tony [Khan] was like, ‘That’s it! Brodido!’ Then we became champions. We had a classic match with FTR. We had a great match with [Konosuke] Takeshita and [Kazuchika] Okada. I can’t complain. We had great matches with The Young Bucks. I hope that once everything starts to settle down, we can get back to tag team wrestling… You definitely haven’t seen the end of Brodido.”

Brodido ultimately dropped the AEW World Tag Team Championship to FTR at AEW Full Gear on November 22 last year and have competed just once as a duo since, at WrestleCade SuperShow the following week.

The pair have continued to have each other’s backs on AEW television, though both are pursuing singles gold for the time being. Since setting their sights on singles titles, both Brody King and Bandido have unsuccessfully challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship, with Bandido still currently holding the ROH World Championship.

Elsewhere during the interview, Brody King addressed the support he’s received from AEW fans over his anti-ICE stance. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for both Brody King and Bandido as soon as we hear more.
