Joe Hendry is still a ‘TNA guy’ for the time being.
During the September 16 edition of NXT, Bobby Roode stated that Joe Hendry is ‘now with NXT’ during a backstage segment. The comment surprised many, as Hendry appeared to still be under contract with TNA at the time.
Appearing on the Battleground Podcast ahead of October 12’s Bound For Glory, TNA President Carlos Silva admitted that Roode’s comments took him by surprise before confirming that Hendry remains with TNA Wrestling.
“That is correct. Yeah, it caught me off guard when he said it as well. So yes, he is and he is until he’s not. He is. Joe has been great for us, Joe’s been great with WWE and NXT. We’ll continue to work through that together as good partners do.”
-Carlos Silva
Hendry has yet to be announced for NXT vs. TNA Showdown on October 7, which will feature both men’s and women’s 4-on-4 Survivor Series-style tag team matches between the two promotions.
Carlos Silva recently revealed that TNA is in active negotiations with a partner over a potential TV deal. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Joe Hendry as soon as we hear more.
