The former Women’s Champion is seemingly no longer with WWE.

Amidst the most recent batch of WWE releases, reports indicated that Sonya Deville’s departure was down to WWE not extending her contract, and it now appears as though yet another name has seen their contract with WWE expire.

According to a new report from both PWN and Fightful Select, Carmella’s WWE contract recently expired, thus making her a free agent at the time of writing.

“Masked J of PWN and Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp have learned that former Women’s Champion Carmella has had her contract expire recently and is technically no longer with WWE.”

-Fightful Select

Carmella last wrestled for WWE in March 2023, although this stint only lasted for six weeks after returning from another lengthy absence that began in 2022. During her absence, she’s since had a child and also noted that she was battling drop foot.

Whilst Carmella is technically now a free agent, it’s important to note that the same could also have been said for Becky Lynch for a time prior to reports indicating that she’d re-sign, and thus we can’t say for certain that her tenure with the company has come to a definitive end.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Carmella as soon as we hear more.
