Cedric Alexander would love to reunite with The Hurt Syndicate.

On September 7, 2020, Cedric Alexander turned on Ricochet and Apollo Crews to officially join ‘The Hurt Business’. Together with Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin, the faction were dominant through the pandemic, and, Alexander had a run with the RAW Tag Team Championships alongside Benjamin between December 2020 and March 2021. Now, the former WWE star has discussed whether he’d be interested in reuniting with the rest of the group now they’re in AEW as ‘The Hurt Syndicate’.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Alexander said it would be great if he had the opportunity to rejoin the faction in AEW in order to finish out that chapter.

“100%. That’s a big chapter of my career that I really felt was never fully explored and I think it’ll be great to finish that out.”

Alexander and Benjamin were slowly separated from Lashley in 2021 when ‘The All-Mighty’ was focused on his reign with the WWE Championship. Addressing this, Cedric talked through his experiences of the group’s initial split.

“I knew something was wrong when Bobby won the title on that episode of Raw, and Vince made a very direct comment to not have me and Shelton get it in the ring and celebrate with him. That was when I was like, Oh, that’s not good news. Whatever’s happening next I’m not gonna like it. Then, slowly but surely, think was it two or three weeks later that we did the full breakup the first time of the three times we did.”

Alexander maintained his desire to work with The Hurt Syndicate again, though he stated that he’d be interested in going to Mexico or Japan to continue his career.

“I think so, definitely. There’s so much meat on the bone that I would like to get to. But if I don’t, then that’s fine too. I’m game to go to New Japan, Mexico. So I’m just ready for things to happen. It’s one of those things where I’ve been sitting so long and I feel like I’m getting a little itchy, something’s gotta happen soon.”

On February 8, Alexander confirmed his departure from WWE. Given that it was just over six weeks ago, the 35-year-old is still in the midst of the 90-day non-compete clause attached to his release. With Alexander free to sign elsewhere in May, it’ll be interesting to see what his future holds when the time comes to decide his next move.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Cedric Alexander’s in-ring future as soon as we hear more.
