Alexander is set to become a free agent imminently.

On September 27, Fightful Select reported that Cedric Alexander is now under contract with TNA Wrestling, with the former WWE Superstar having appeared on their programming for months with no confirmation of his contract status.

Following up on their previous report, Fightful Select have now revealed that Cedric Alexander’s contract with TNA Wrestling is expected to expire around the time of Bound For Glory on October 12, though the company hope to retain his services.

“Sources in TNA reached out after the contract story was published to confirm that he was, in fact, signed to a deal, but that the deal is up around the time of Bound for Glory. As of now, Cedric would be a free agent. It was noted that TNA is hoping and expecting to retain Cedric.”

With short-term contracts becoming increasingly common in TNA, the report also notes that several talents have deals set to expire around the time of Bound For Glory, with the company working to secure renewals.

Since his WWE release in February, speculation has naturally grown about a potential reunion with MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Syndicate in AEW, though Fightful notes that this isn’t in the immediate plans as of now.

Nevertheless, MVP recently stated that he’d be open to bringing Cedric Alexander into the fold, noting that The Hurt Syndicate is actively looking to recruit younger, high-flying talent to the group. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Cedric Alexander as soon as we hear more.
