The leader of the Alpha Academy is currently set to become a free agent by the end of next week.

Chad Gable is currently a key figure on Monday Night RAW, having his eyes firmly set on the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Despite two previous unsuccessful attempts to win the title from current champion Sami Zayn, Gable is currently locked into a storyline which has seen tension develop between he and the others members of the Alpha Academy as he becomes increasingly fixated on taking the gold from Zayn. However, there have now been suggestions that he may not be with the company for much longer.

Per Fightful Select, it’s believed that Chad Gable’s WWE contract is set to expire next week, and that there is no current agreement in place to extend the deal.

“On Wednesday, word within the wrestling industry was that Chad Gable’s WWE contract is set to expire late next week, and that no deal has been reached as of now.”

As fans may expect, the report notes that Gable is expected to receive a lot of internet from across the wrestling world should his deal be allowed to expire, and that talent from elsewhere will be making a push for Chad to be signed to their respective companies if it becomes a possibility.

Interestingly, Fightful also discussed interest from the MMA world, suggesting that multiple organisations would be interested in offering bookings to the former WWE Tag Team Champion if he becomes available next week.

Due to Gable’s prominent role on WWE TV as of late, the news of his imminent contract expiry will likely come as a surprise to many fans. While his deal is reportedly set to expire next Friday, whether or not the 38-year-old leaves the company remains to be seen.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Chad Gable’s contract status as soon as we hear more.
