Jericho’s WWE return looks to be on the horizon.

Speculation has been growing in recent months that Chris Jericho could be set for a WWE return once his AEW contract expires. Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio yesterday that several people within WWE believe the move is happening, and now a major update has emerged regarding potential plans for his return.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer discussed fans chanting for Chris Jericho at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth on October 11. He noted that the moment will not alter WWE’s plans for the current AEW star, with the intention being to bring him back for a retirement tour followed by a Hall of Fame induction.

“The WWE fans at Crown Jewel in Perth did him a hell of a favor although from those in WWE, they said the Perth crowd made no difference and that they are of the impression it won’t change creative plans and the idea is that Jericho is coming for a retirement tour and Hall of Fame induction.”

On October 14, Chris Jericho announced the first wave of talent and guests for his Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise, set for November next year. Fans were quick to point out that, for the first time, no AEW talent have been announced for the event.

Chris Jericho lost the ROH World Championship to Bandido at AEW: Dynasty on 6 April earlier this year. On the following episode of Dynamite, The Learning Tree disbanded after Jericho told Big Bill and Bryan Keith that it would be best for him to step away for a while.

Regarding Hall of Fame plans, WWE has so far announced Stephanie McMahon as part of the Class of 2026, with additional inductees expected to be revealed as the Road to WrestleMania approaches.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Chris Jericho’s contract status as soon as we hear more.
