Could Chris Jericho be on his way back to WWE in the coming months?

Chris Jericho has been absent from in-ring action since AEW Dynasty back on April 6th, with a report from Fightful Select last month noting that the former AEW World Champion’s contract with the promotion is up at the end of 2025.

During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer corroborated reports that Jericho’s contract is set to expire later this year, adding that there is “lots of talk” within WWE about a potential return.

Jericho is actually a really big story. His contract is up at the end of the year, or late in the year, and there’s certainly been lots and lots of talk about WWE. I know from a WWE standpoint that there is lots of talk there about Jericho. People speculating Royal Rumble. Nobody has officially said anything, nor will anyone officially say anything.”

Meltzer additionally added that “Jericho is inevitably going to be in WWE,” and thus speculation regarding his contract status is likely to continue in the coming weeks and months.

The news follows fans spotting that Jericho recently liked an Instagram post from JM Playground about his AEW contract length and the possibility of a WWE return.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Chris Jericho as soon as we hear more.
