Another NJPW star looks set to become All Elite.

The January 31 edition of AEW Collision saw New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Clark Connors face Darby Allin. Despite losing to the former TNT Champion, Connors was joined by his former Bullet Club War Dogs stablemate Gabe Kidd for a post-match attack before the pair exited through the crowd.

Having previously reported that his contract with NJPW was set to expire soon, Fightful Select is now reporting that Connors is expected to sign with AEW imminently.

“Fightful Select has learned from All Elite Wrestling sources that Clark Connors is expected to be signing with the company imminently. It was confirmed that there is an offer that is set to be finalized soon.”

Following the merger between Unaffiliated and Bullet Club, Connors is now part of Unbound Co. and would depart NJPW as a former two-time IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champion alongside Drilla Moloney.

The report also notes that AEW sources believe Connors’s recent appearance and expected signing could indicate growing interest in David Finlay as his NJPW contract winds down and he approaches free agency.

Alongside interest from All Elite Wrestling, David Finlay is also said to have been discussed within WWE, with the possibility of a move to NXT on the table. You can read more about that here.

Finlay is set to face Callum Newman at NJPW’s The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11 and has also been announced for The New Beginning USA on February 27.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Clark Connors and David Finlay as soon as we hear more.
