CM Punk Says Fan Support Following His Dog Larry’s Passing Has Been Hard To Put Into Words

CM Punk says the support of the WWE Universe following Larry’s passing has meant a great deal to him.

On December 2 last year, CM Punk took to Instagram to announce that his beloved dog Larry had passed away. Punk and AJ Lee rescued Larry from PAWS Chicago in February 2015, and he had since become a familiar presence backstage at numerous WWE events.

Speaking to ESPN ahead of this Saturday’s Elimination Chamber in Chicago, Illinois, CM Punk revealed that he has been taken aback by the outpouring of support his household has received following the announcement.

“I haven’t been able to really kind of process or put into words the outpouring of support. Not just monetarily, although people donated a sick amount of money to PAWS locally. It’s going to help a lot of stray dogs. A lot of shelter, rescue puppies. Cats, too. They do both. But for me, seeing the signs that people make and bring all over the world. I did a two week European tour. We were in 10 different countries in three weeks, and every show had a sign about Larry. Every show stateside has a sign about Larry. People have written nice messages. They’ve given me gifts regarding Larry. It means a lot. It’s hard to put into words exactly everything it means.”

CM Punk is set to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Bálor of The Judgment Day at Elimination Chamber, with Roman Reigns awaiting the winner at WrestleMania 42.

AJ Lee, meanwhile, is set to challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship at the event, marking her first singles match since March 2015.
