We now have more information on who’s decision it was to bring CM Punk back to WWE.
Last night’s Survivor Series in Chicago, Illinois, saw weeks of speculation finally come to an end as CM Punk made his shocking WWE return after his AEW exit in early September. Reports had been circulating regarding a potential WWE return since his AEW contract was terminated, although his appearance last night still remained a surprise to almost everyone involved.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that the deal came together within the last ten days or so, and that Triple H’s claim regarding those at TKO finding out at the same time as the WWE Universe has been confirmed to him.
“The (CM Punk/WWE) deal came together about 10 days ago, obviously kept a complete secret from almost everyone. Paul Levesque said that TKO people found out watching the TV, which I thought was ridiculous until I asked around and was told the exact same thing”

Additionally, Meltzer reported that the decision to bring CM Punk into the company ultimately came down to Nick Khan and Triple H, whilst Vince McMahon is said to have had nothing to do with it.
“It (WWE signing CM Punk) was a Nick Khan call, in the end it was Nick Khan who made the call. Vince (McMahon) had nothing to do with it, Paul Levesque had obviously a lot to do with it, and those were the two guys who were the point guys”
As for what’s next for Punk himself, PWInsider recently reported that he’s expected to be at tomorrow night’s episode of RAW, and thus the WWE Universe won’t have to wait long to see what the future holds.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on CM Punk’s WWE return as soon as we hear more.
