Forbidden Door will reportedly feature wrestlers from CMLL and STARDOM.
Since 2022, Forbidden Door has been a highlight of the wrestling calendar. Being a collaboration between AEW and New Japan, it provided a platform for the two worlds to collide and for the stars of both companies to compete against each other. Though, given that NJPW’s owners Bushiroad also own World Wonder Ring STARDOM and that AEW have connections worldwide, many have wondered whether more companies will join the cross-promotional show.
Now, per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it’s believed that Forbidden Door 2024 will feature wrestlers from CMLL and STARDOM.
“There will be STARDOM and CMLL wrestlers on the Forbidden Door show when they (AEW) do that show in June. So he (Taro Okada) came in and that kind of explains that. Again, when Tony Khan tweeted those tweets about Rossy Ogawa. It was definite loyalty to STARDOM & Rossy Ogawa was quitting STARDOM so that’s what is going on there.”

Additionally, Meltzer notes that Supercard of Honor on April 5 will likely feature STARDOM wrestlers such as AZM and Mina Shirakawa.
“I believe that on the April 5th Ring of Honor pay-per-view, a couple of STARDOM wrestlers are going to be on that show. — I think AZM is going to be on that show and maybe Mina Shirakawa,”

Viewers have seen CMLL talent appear on all three of AEW’s weekly shows since the turn of the year, and we are starting to see STARDOM wrestlers be integrated too. Last night, during the Ring Of Honor tapings, Mina Shirakawa took on Anna Jay and it’s likely that more talent from the Joshi company will appear in AEW when they arrive in America for their pay-per-view on April 4.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on CMLL and STARDOM’s involvement on Forbidden Door as soon as we hear more.
