Cody Rhodes is staying with WWE.

2024 has already proven to be a crucial year for contracts across the world of wrestling. Particularly in WWE, there are still many top names whose futures are uncertain, and the company will be eager to tie down as many of their current stars to long-term deals as they can in the coming weeks and months. However, it appears as if they won’t have to worry about keeping hold of Cody Rhodes.

While speaking to Justin Walker, The American Nightmare confirmed that he has signed a multi-year contract to extend his WWE stay. Rhodes, who is currently 38, stated that his new deal is set to run past his 40th birthday, and was keen to stress his desire to step away from the ring at the right time.

“I can tell you 40 is out of the question just because, not to give you scoop, it was widely reported, but I did sign a new contract with WWE. It extends beyond my 40th birthday. The plan is still, when it’s time to step out, to step out without it being a painful process. Solely because I saw my dad [Dusty Rhodes] as an old man wrestler and he loved it and enjoyed it, but as his son it was hard to see. My daughter is two going on three, there does have a be a time, just like he was with us, where I have to be home all the time and be there with her. It’s not 40 anymore. I’ll update the number. I hit the prime run late in the game. I often forget that I’m nearing 40.”

Rhodes’ WWE contract extension couldn’t have come at a better time, as the 2023 and 2024 Royal Rumble winner is set to headline both nights of WrestleMania 40. First teaming with World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins to attempt to limit Bloodline interference for night two, WrestleMania Sunday will see Cody get another chance at finishing the story as he takes on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship for the second year in a row.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Cody Rhodes’ new WWE contract as soon as we hear more.
