The WWE Champion is a believer in Bron Breakker.
Since arriving on WWE’s main roster in February last year, Bron Breakker has experienced a meteoric rise and is already a former two-time Intercontinental Champion, with many fans expecting the second-generation Steiner to be a future WrestleMania main eventer.
Cody Rhodes also appears to see big things ahead for Breakker. During an appearance on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike, the WWE Champion admitted that while he didn’t believe it at first, he now views Bron as the future of WWE.
“I love Bron Breakker and he’s not gonna like me saying this but, I’m glad you talked to him because Bron Breakker is — I didn’t think this at first and I don’t mean this with any disrespect — I do think it now though — he’s the future of WWE. He’s definitely someone that we’re positioning to be there as we go, and I mean, main event of WrestleMania, potentially the big, big stuff, win a WWE Title, all these things. But watching him be interviewed is fun, because it’s a little new to him. So seeing this guy who barks and spears people at three million miles an hour just kind of lock in, and, ‘Oh, well, WWE is on ESPN.’ It’s just making my day because I already know this guy’s probably gonna beat me at some point down the road but at least I’m going to enjoy this period of time where he’s just, ‘…Hi…’ He’s amazing. If you come and see him, you’ll be very blown away with what Bron can do but I’m enjoying this period of time. It’s like a franchise quarterback. This is like rookie year.”
-Cody Rhodes
Breakker is currently learning under the guidance of World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins as part of The Vision with Paul Heyman, Becky Lynch, and Bronson Reed. Still, it seems only a matter of time before he sets his own sights on world championship gold.
At the upcoming Wrestlepalooza Premium Live Event on September 20th in Indianapolis, Breakker will be tagging with Bronson Reed to take on The Usos, whilst Rhodes is set to defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre.
Elsewhere during the show, Rhodes touched on the possibility of stepping into Triple H’s role a decade from now. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Bron Breakker as soon as we hear more.
