Cody Rhodes thinks there’s more left on the table for ‘The Final Boss’.

After fans initially pushed back on the idea of him challenging Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, The Rock turned heel as ‘The Final Boss’. This became a major highlight in the lead up to 2024’s ‘Show Of Shows’, with the character also playing a pivotal role in John Cena’s stunning heel turn earlier this year. Now, Cody Rhodes has hinted that there could be more to come from ‘The Final Boss’ if WWE chooses to further explore the character.

When NBA Champion Matt Barnes asked Rhodes to name his wrestling Mount Rushmore on ALL THE SMOKE, ‘The American Nightmare’ included The Rock, saying they have only “scratched the surface” of his ‘Final Boss’ character.

“I think The Rock is on there, Mount Rushmore-wise. He came back to a very tumultuous WWE, a year or so ago, and decided, nope, I’m not gonna deal with that. I’m instead gonna create a new character even though I’m already one of the greatest characters ever, that being The Final Boss… We’ve just scratched the surface on The Final Boss. There’s something incredibly special there so The Rock is on my Mount Rushmore.”

Following the WrestleMania 40 build, many fans hoped to see Cody Rhodes and The Rock face off one-on-one, although a singles match between them never materialised. As it stands, the last time fans saw ‘The Final Boss’ in WWE was at Elimination Chamber, and it remains unclear when he will next appear on screen.

Elsewhere during the interview, Rhodes confirmed reports that Seth Rollins suffered a shoulder injury during their match at Crown Jewel: Perth. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Cody Rhodes and The Rock as soon as we hear more.
