Dudley has once again opened up on the discrimination he faced during his career.

As both a WWE and TNA Hall of Famer, D-Von Dudley undoubtedly ranks among the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time. Despite his extensive list of accolades and undeniable influence on future generations, Dudley has spoken openly about the racism he faced throughout his career.

In an interview with VideoGamer, D-Von Dudley spoke candidly about the racism he has encountered in professional wrestling, recalling an incident involving an individual who he notes is now employed by another organisatio, who once told him he didn’t like him because of the colour of his skin.

“No, because it was hidden really. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. The Klan wore sheets on their heads. The Ku Klux Klan wore sheets over their heads. And I felt that a lot of those Klan members made their way into wrestling, traded in their sheets for suits. It was definitely a behind-the-scenes thing. I’ve dealt with it with certainly higher ups like MVP said. I dealt with that certain higher up that told me to my face, they don’t like me because of the color of my skin. And they work for other organizations now, and this person knows who he is. I have no respect for that person. I don’t really care for him. Now that he’s not in the position that he once was, I just really don’t care for him.”

Whilst D-Von didn’t directly name the individual in question, the topic was discussed during Team 3D’s interview with Maven on D-Von’s YouTube channel, where there were strong indications that the comments were in reference to AEW commentator Jim Ross.

Elsewhere during the interview, D-Von revealed he had three meetings with Tony Khan about joining AEW as a producer. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on discrimination faced by D-Von Dudley in wrestling as soon as we hear more.
