Dana Massie will reportedly be finishing up with AEW this weekend.

Being Matt Jackson’s wife, Dana Massie has had a crucial role in AEW since its inception. Specifically, she held the position of the company’s Marketing and Merchandising Officer, however it seems as if she will be leaving the company in the immediate future.

To provide an update on her AEW status, Dave Meltzer has written in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Dana will be finishing up with All Elite Wrestling as soon as this weekend, having turned down a contract extension and informing the company of her impending departure as far back as October.

Massie also finishes this weekend. Her contract expired at the end of the year. She was offered a new deal, but informed the company in October that she was leaving.

In particular, it’s believed that Massie was unsettled by how the company had treated her husband and brother-in-law in the aftermath of the infamous Brawl Out incident. According to the report, she felt as if The Young Bucks were never given a fair opportunity to clear their names against those who believe them to be the sole reason for the altercation between themselves and CM Punk.

“One of the issues with Massie is that while Matt & Nick did sign new deals recently because they got such great deals to stay, there was the feeling that the company never cleared their names publicly nor allowed them to clear their names over the past year plus. Part of her leaving, maybe even a big part, was her view on how the company treated her husband and brother-in-law. She knows everything about it and saw most of the key things first hand, and particularly that the company never publicly defended her family which allowed people to argue that they were the ones at fault for the blow up of C.M. Punk.”

Despite CM Punk being gone from AEW after making a short-lived return this summer, it’s clear that the affects of ‘Brawl Out’ are still being felt across the company today. While Massie’s departure is coming up, both The Young Bucks’ have recently signed multi-year contract extensions for the promotion they helped to round, and, as such, aren’t expected to follow Dana out of All Elite Wrestling any time soon.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Dana Massie’s departure from AEW as we hear more.
