‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio’s AAA debut was a moment he’d long hoped for.
With WWE having acquired lucha libre promotion AAA back on April 19th, cross-promotional appearances have become increasingly frequent, with Dominik Mysterio’s shocking appearance at AAA Alianzas the latest in growing trend.
Speaking to Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling, Mysterio revealed that the moment gave him goosebumps and highlighted his pride as the third generation of Mysterio to step into a AAA ring.
“It gives me goosebumps now just talking about it. It was super surreal. When I first started training, for the longest time, I wanted to do something with AAA. Mostly because of the history that it has. The fact that my dad started with that company and helped bring it up. Even my uncle Rey Mysterio Sr did stuff in AAA. The fact that I was able to go down there and solidify myself as another Mysterio, making it a third generation going down there, and that reaction was insane. I’m blessed that things like that happen. It was super surreal. No one is expecting it, and I just showed up and did what Dirty Dom is supposed to do, and that’s take over.”

During his appearance, Mysterio stated his intent to become the new AAA Mega Championship, with El Hijo del Vikingo set to put the title on the line in a Fatal Fourway against Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and El Grande Americano at TripleMania XXXIII on August 16th.
WrestleVotes recently reported that WWE is strongly considering putting the AAA Mega Championship on Dominik Mysterio, who also currently holds the Intercontinental Championship.
