Samoa Joe let McIntyre know he caught him for real.

Drew McIntyre’s Claymore Kick is one of the most recognisable finishing moves in WWE today, with the running one-legged dropkick having secured the ‘Scottish Warrior’ three world titles since his return to the company in 2017.

While recalling some of his most devastating Claymore Kicks during an appearance on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, McIntyre remembered Samoa Joe pulling him aside to say that he had caught him hard with his finisher.

“I caught Samoa Joe real bad one time in a Royal Rumble, and to be fair, he didn’t say anything. He’s like a man’s man. He just pulled me aside and let me know, ‘Hey, brother, you really caught me bad.’ I felt so guilty because Joe’s my boy. He’s my brother. There are a few guys I’ve caught real hard that I didn’t feel so guilty about. But most of the time, people were good. But I felt really bad about the one to Joe.”

McIntyre is set to challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Samoa Joe, meanwhile, is set to take on Ricochet, Bobby Lashley, and Hook this Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, with the winner earning a shot at Adam Page for the AEW World Championship at Full Gear.

Elsewhere during the interview, McIntyre revealed that he was preparing to head to New Japan Pro Wrestling before his return to WWE in 2017. You can read more about that here.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the future of Drew McIntyre and Samoa Joe as soon as we hear more.
