Drew McIntyre can’t give an update on his contract situation.
For almost a year, fans have speculated over the future of Drew McIntyre. Last April, it was made clear that the Scotsman’s WWE contract had entered its final year, and there is still yet to be any official confirmation that the 38-year-old will be staying with the company now owned by TKO past WrestleMania and into the spring.
While on The Ringer’s Masked Men Show, Drew was asked about a potential new contract. Here, the former WWE Champion said that a fresh deal was very important to him, although he made it clear that there was nothing new to report on that front as of yet.
“It’s very important to me, having a new contract. It’s been talked about for a very long time on the internet. I’m not the only one whose contract comes up every few years or whatever, but you would think it, reading the internet. There is nothing I can say right now. I can say that I’m having fun. I can say that I intend to continue having fun and I’m in my prime. I’m younger than everyone thinks I am because I’ve been around for such a long time. I have years to go. No matter what, you’ll still see Drew McIntyre wrestling. I can say ‘or Drew Galloway’ and that would get everyone’s attention,”

McIntyre is seemingly enjoying his current run on Monday Night Raw, transitioning into a heel role over the course of the last few months. While not much is known about his long-term future, we are just two and a half weeks away from WrestleMania where Drew is set to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship 24 hours after the champion looks to team with Cody Rhodes in his fight against The Bloodline.
