McIntyre’s future still remains unclear.
Last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW saw Elimination Chamber winner Drew Mclntyre state that he’d suffered a ruptured eardrum in the process of defeating Bobby Lashley, Logan Paul, Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and LA Knight to secure his WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.
PWInsider are now reporting that McIntyre has indeed suffered a ruptured eardrum, highlighting the severity of such an injury in relation to travel.
“The Drew McIntyre promo stating he suffered a ruptured eardrum in the Elimination Chamber was 100% legitimate, we are told. I can’t even imagine flying around the world with that injury.”

On top of confirming the aforementioned injury, the report also notes that, as of writing, Mclntyre is yet to sign a new contract with WWE, although both parties are said to be working under the assumption that a deal will eventually be reached.
“We have received emails asking about McIntyre having signed a new WWE deal. In asking WWE sources today, we are told that nothing has changed. Everyone is working together on the assumption a new deal will be reached but nothing has been signed and sealed, as of today, we are told.”

Multiple reports have previously suggested that McIntyre’s current deal with WWE is set to expire at some point after WrestleMania 40, and thus, the events in Philadelphia could potentially provide indication as to where his future will lie.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on both Drew McIntyre’s injury status and his contract negotiations as soon as we hear more.
