Finn Bálor Seemingly Rules Out ‘The Demon’ Returning At WWE Elimination Chamber

Finn Bálor isn’t planning on becoming ‘The Demon’ at WWE’s Elimination Chamber.
Tomorrow night’s Elimination Chamber in Chicago, Illinois, will see CM Punk defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Bálor of The Judgment Day. Ahead of the bout, many fans have speculated whether the match will mark the return of ‘The Demon’, though Bálor has downplayed that possibility.
Speaking to Radio Times ahead of Elimination Chamber, Bálor appeared to rule out the idea of bringing back ‘The Demon’ for his match with CM Punk, emphasising the need to get the job done as himself.
“I think it can be used effectively, but only occasionally, and it’s something that requires a lot more from me than just showing up for a match, being prepared. It’s really more than just paint, it’s a mental state. It really is an alter ego for me, and it’s something that I need to tap into. It’s something that I like to do, something that I certainly want to do again. But like with the music, timing is everything, and the timing has to be right. I’m sure we’ll get there in the future, but right now, my focus is on the World Heavyweight Championship and CM Punk, and that feels like this is something Finn has to do.”

Bálor has not reverted to his ‘Demon’ persona since falling short against Edge inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 39 in 2023, and it appears fans will have to continue waiting to see the character make a return.
The inaugural WWE Universal Champion discussed his issues with how ‘The Demon’ has been presented by the company last month, while also providing insight into how the persona was originally conceived. You can read more about that here.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on future plans for Finn Bálor as soon as we hear more.
