Tony Khan has revealed the first AEW rankings of 2024.
When All Elite Wrestling first started, the company featured a set of rankings to help determine championship contenders based on wins and losses, but, in August of 2022, the system disappeared from our screens. Recently, it was announced that AEW were bringing the rankings back to their on-screen presentation, and, following last night’s Dynamite, fans saw the first set of rankings in over 18 months.
Per Tony Khan’s X post, a set of four ranking lists were revealed. It features contenders for AEW men’s singles, women’s singles, tag team and trios gold, with the top five wrestlers for each category named.
This could prove to be a useful tool to All Elite Wrestling moving forward, as they could use the rankings to help steer the creative direction of certain performers. For now, we’ll have to wait and see how it is utilised,
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on the reintroduction of AEW’s rankings system as we hear more.
