Gail Kim Reportedly Has No Non-Compete Clause Following TNA Departure, Some In WWE And AEW Expected To Push For Her

More has emerged regarding Gail Kim’s TNA exit.

On March 25, it emerged that TNA had let many of its leadership team go. The list of departures, including Ariel Shnerner, Rob Klingman, Michael Shewchenko and Gail Kim. Her firing left many stunned and prompted an outpouring of support for someone whose most recent stint with the company spanned 14 years.

While Kim is beloved among her peers and her departure has garnered a lot of shock, Fightful Select’s update details how at least one person wasn’t surprised by her firing as the 48-year-old is believed to have been outspoken creatively. On this, it’s said that Kim had been pushing heavily for the Knockouts division in the absence of Scott D’Amore

“We’re told that Kim was very direct about her complaints when she felt like things could have been handled better or more professionally. Gail Kim was not involved in creative, and had been pushing heavily for the Knockouts division to do more after the departure of Scott D’Amore.”

On her future, Fightful reveal that Gail Kim has no non-compete as part of her departure, with people in both AEW and WWE believed to push for her.

“Sources in AEW and WWE both said they expected Gail Kim to get interest across the wrestling world, and a few said they were going to immediately push for such. We’re told that Gail Kim does plan to continue in wrestling. Kim has no non compete and can appear for any wrestling company she wants or work wherever immediately.”

As yet, there’s been no indication as to what Gail Kim’s next move will be, although it’s noted in the report that those who have spoken to Kim since her TNA departure described her as ‘determined’. Of course, we wish her all the best with regard to her future.
