Giulia will reportedly not be ready to wrestle Roxanne Perez at NXT Heatwave.
Since being shown in the crowd at NXT Stand and Deliver, WWE fans have been wondering when they will see Giulia debut for the company. Initially, it was believed that the 30-year-old would arrive at Heatwave on July 7 and immediately challenge for NXT gold, however it now seems as if that won’t be happening.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s believed that Giulia won’t be ready to return to the ring in time to wrestle at NXT Heatwave after her recent surgery on her wrist.
“Regarding Giulia, she is definitely not wrestling Roxanne Perez on the NXT show on 7/7 in Toronto. She and those in Japan (and one source in NXT) had denied the story from the beginning. She is injured and had surgery on her wrist and won’t be ready by that date. She is coming but not until later in the year.”
This will disappoint those who were hoping to see Giulia vs Perez next month, but attention will now turn to who will instead step up to Roxanne at NXT Heatwave. On this, the report stating that Lola Vice is the likely candidate to challenge Perez, with the company setting this up this past Tuesday night.
