Homicide Reveals His Retirement Is Due To A Cyst On The Brain

Homicide has shed some light on why he is retiring from wrestling.

Tonight, March 20, Homicide will have his last professional wrestling match. The legend will team with Bull James to take on Mike Santana and Afa Jr. in his hometown of Brooklyn, bringing to a close a career that has spanned over 20 years. Now, he’s provided an update on the reason behind his upcoming retirement.

Per a post on his Facebook, Homicide has revealed that doctors have found a cyst on his brain which has gotten worse due to constant bumps and travel.

“Can’t believe I saying goodbye, not only a job the passion the sport of pro wrestling. (Reason) I’m leaving cause I went to my Doctor and found cyst my brain. Had it for months getting worst. My vision, speech is bad. Cause the hard hitting getting knock out and hitting a plane to travel. Thank you for your support. This not a goodbye. This is I see you later.”

Homicide is an icon of the industry and is one of the most influential wrestlers of his time. The 48-year-old’s list of accomplishments includes being a former ROH World Champion, TNA X-Division Champion and NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion among many more accolades.

Many have offered support to Homicide ahead of his retirement, including CM Punk who called his friend ‘one of a kind’.
