The Rainmaker may be in AEW as early as tonight.
Kazuchika Okada has been a free agent since his NJPW contract officially expired on January 31. Despite continuing to appear for the Japanese promotion into February, he has now completed his final matches and attention has shifted towards where he may go next. Speculation was rampant over his future, but, according to reports, we won’t have to wait long to see his next step.
Per PWInsider Elite, it’s been reported that according to sources in Japan, Kazuchika Okada travelled to L.A last weekend and he is still in the U.S. The expectation in Japan is also that he will be debuting as an official AEW roster member on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
“Sources in Japan confirmed to PWInsiderElite.com that Kazuchika Okada traveled last weekend in Los Angeles and he is still in the United States.
The expectation within Japan is that the former IWGP Champion, one of the best in-ring wrestlers in the world, will debut as an official roster member for AEW at tonight’s Dynamite taping.”

Okada is undoubtedly one of the best wrestlers in the world today, so this is a huge get for AEW. Also, it comes at a strong time, following on from Will Ospreay’s first appearance as a full-time roster member last week and the likely debut of Mercedes Mone at ‘Big Business’ in seven days time.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Kazuchika Okada’s AEW debut as soon as we hear more.
