It may not be long before Ilja Dragunov is back.

In September 2024, Ilja Dragunov took on the then World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER at a live event in Columbus, Georgia. However, the 31-year-old unfortunately suffered a torn ACL during the contest, putting a stop to the momentum he’d been building on Monday Night RAW and sidelining him for almost a year. Now, an update has emerged on Dragunov’s condition and it seems as if it may not be long before the former NXT Champion is able to return.

Per Dave Scherer in the PWInsider Q&A, it’s believed that Ilja Dragunov is either close to 100% or already cleared.

I have heard that he is either close to 100 percent from his knee injury or is already cleared.  Hopefully he will be back soon.

Although there’s no indication of exactly when we may be able to expect to see Dragunov back in the ring, the update will certainly come as good news to fans of the Russia-born star. After he was drafted to the red brand in 2024, Ilja will be hopeful of making his mark on the main roster once he’s back from injury.

As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Ilja Dragunov’s injury status as soon as we hear more.
