‘The Samoan Werewolf’ may not be out of action for as long as initially feared.
On October 16, BodySlam reported that Jacob Fatu is dealing with a non-wrestling-related injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for an extended period of time, potentially well into 2026.
With Jacob Fatu having been written off television during last night’s episode of SmackDown, Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite has now provided an update on the former United States Champion, revealing that the word backstage is that he is currently recovering from a dental procedure.
“The word among talent at SmackDown last night was that Jacob Fatu was recovering from a dental procedure and was not yet cleared to wrestle. The hope is he will be back very soon.”

Jacob Fatu was scheduled to face Drew McIntyre in the main event of last night’s SmackDown in a #1 Contendership Match for the WWE Championship. However, the bout was called off after Fatu was discovered backstage during the show laid out and bloodied.
McIntyre would instead face Cody Rhodes in an impromptu WWE Championship match to close the show after the champion accused the Scotsman of being behind the attack on Fatu earlier in the night.
As always, we’ll aim to provide any further updates on Jacob Fatu’s status, and we wish him all the best in his recovery.
